I got 5 for ya' #FiveForFriday

Hello all!!!

I love these 5 for Friday linky parties. I really enjoy seeing the snapshots from everyone's week. I had a pretty busy week.

1. On Monday I had a curriculum map meeting--
The curriculum mapping is tedious at times and there are software problems at times. However, it's really helped me delve into the standards. It's made me really look at them and interpret them. I even volunteered to map for reading. We're adopting a new reading series...so I'll be mapping uncharted territory with the CCS as my guide.
I do like that I can access the book online...easy planning from home?
2. Writing Packet funny
I do a Six-Traits writing packet. We are learning to add details to our writing.  We were describing ourselves, what we like to do, and how we do it.

Left: (describing self) -->wicked awesome
Right: (describing self)--> redneck

Oh these kids.
3. Synonym Rolls
We learned about synonyms this week. We went on a little synonym roll hunt after we defined synonym and talked about examples. You can find the idea here from Finally in First

4. Field Trip
It's that time of the year!!! Field trip time that is. Today we went to the Shrine Circus and the IMA. (Indianapolis Museum of Art)

This guy did some amazing balancing things.

5. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!
Thanks for entering my #PinItToWinIt for my NWF Summer Edition.

The winner is:
Michelle J.!!! I'll be emailing you my Nonsense Word Fluency packet this weekend! I hope your kiddos enjoy it.

Hi, I found your blog through the Five For Friday Link and I'm your newest follower! I see you are adopting HMH Journeys. I'm finishing my second year with it so if you need anything, please let me know. It took a lot of getting used to and it has so many components that it can be overwhelming. Best of luck!
